I’m in the Air Force and my job required me to pass the SY0-401. Many people failed with the book that was given to us, but this book helped me pass with an 806. Good luck to all who takes the test!
Another great study guide by Darril Gibson. Passed the Sy0-401 with just this book and 2 weeks of time. The test has some questions that i know i got wrong but i disagree with the way they worded it. I finished the test in about an hour. My advice is to read the question once, choose your answer, and all the possible choices followed by the question again. I got tripped up a couple of times on the wording, of what exactly they wanted and only after rereading the possible answer choices did I realize their request. They also have a few simulation questions without going into greater detail some of these were great others were a headshaking why.
Darril also has a twitter feed that you can follow for updates and more information around study material. Even if you’re not taking the test and want to learn more about Security, for under $10.00 its really a great cost for what your learning and having all organized in a way that will permit an east pass on the test.
Mr. Gibson has hit another home run with this installment of his CompTIA Security+ Get Certified Get Ahead: SY0-401 Study Guide. Covering all of the new material added to the latest set of objectives, this guide is well written and logically organized. Explanations of key concepts are clearly articulated and insightful. The practice questions are properly created and very useful for preparing for the exam. I especially love the Remember This tips found throughout the guide. In fact, students of Security+ would be wise to memorize each one of them.
As an active CompTIA Certified Technical Trainer who has trained hundreds of students on Security+, I recommend this guide to my students each week without hesitation. Too bad I can’t just teach directly from Mr. Gibson’s materials for my Security+ and Network+ courses. His study materials are excellent.
